- For the Shrimp:
- 1 lb large shrimp peeled & deveined
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
- ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
- For Serving:
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti cooked al dente
- Extra Parmesan cheese optional
- Crusty bread optional, for dipping
Cook the Pasta:
If serving with pasta, cook linguine or spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Sauté the Shrimp:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
In the same pan, melt butter and add garlic & red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in white wine and simmer for 2 minutes, reducing slightly.
Stir in lemon juice & zest, then return shrimp to the pan. Toss to coat.
Combine & Serve:
If using pasta, add it to the pan along with reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce. Toss to combine.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot with Parmesan cheese & crusty bread.
- No Wine? Substitute with chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
- Extra Creamy? Stir in ¼ cup heavy cream at the end.
