Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Assemble the Sandwich
  • Lay out two slices of bread and brush one side of each with olive oil.
  • On the other side, spread butter evenly.
  • Layer mozzarella slices, tomato slices, and fresh basil on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  • Season with salt and pepper, then drizzle with balsamic glaze if using.
  • Top with the second slice of bread (buttered side facing out).
  • Step 2: Grill the Sandwich
  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
  • Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts.
  • Flip carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 3: Serve And Enjoy
  • Remove from the skillet and let it rest for 1-2 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with extra balsamic glaze or a side of tomato soup.
