Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13" baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, Orange Crush soda, oil, and egg whites. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  • Pour into prepared baking dish and bake for 25–28 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  • In a bowl, whisk together orange Jell-O and boiling water until dissolved. Stir in cold water.
  • Pour the Jell-O mixture evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours until completely chilled and set.
  • Spread Cool Whip over the top. Garnish with sprinkles or orange slices, if desired.
  • Slice and serve chilled!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of orange extract to the cake batter.
  • Swap Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream if you prefer.
  • Try it with lemon-lime soda and lemon Jell-O for a zesty twist!
