Easy Garlic Butter Steak Bites And Cheesy Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients
  

  • For the Steak Bites:
  • lbs sirloin steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Salt And black pepper to taste
  • tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (optional for garnish)
  • For the Cheesy Smashed Potatoes:
  • lbs baby potatoes Yukon Gold or red
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt And pepper to taste
  • cups shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend
  • 1 tbsp butter melted, for brushing
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives or green onions optional

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Boil the Potatoes
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add baby potatoes and cook for about 15–20 minutes, or until fork tender.
  • Drain and let cool slightly.
  • Step 2: Smash and Bake
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Arrange potatoes on a baking sheet. Use the bottom of a glass or potato masher to gently smash them flat.
  • Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until edges are golden and crispy.
  • Sprinkle with cheese and return to the oven for 2–3 minutes until melted.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with chives.
  • Step 3: Cook the Steak Bites
  • While potatoes bake, pat steak dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Add steak bites in a single layer.
  • Sear for about 2 minutes per side, until browned but still tender.
  • Reduce heat to medium, add butter and garlic. Stir for 1–2 minutes until garlic is fragrant and steak is coated in garlic butter.
  • Step 4: Serve
  • Plate cheesy smashed potatoes with garlic butter steak bites on the side or right on top.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or tenderloin for even more indulgent steak bites.
  • Try with rosemary or thyme in the butter for an herby flavor twist.
  • Want it spicy? Add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
