- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cooked breaded chicken chicken tenders, patties, or homemade cutlets
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- Optional: fresh basil or red pepper flakes

Heat marinara sauce in a small saucepan or microwave until warm. Keep warm.
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
On the unbuttered side, layer:
A sprinkle of mozzarella
Sliced or chopped chicken
Warm marinara (a spoonful or two)
