- ½ medium onion finely chopped
- ½ green bell pepper finely chopped (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp yellow mustard or Dijon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ tsp chili powder optional, for mild heat
- 4 –6 hamburger buns

Brown the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add Veggies & Garlic
Stir in onion, bell pepper (if using), and garlic. Cook 3–4 minutes, until softened.
Make It Sloppy
Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, chili powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Simmer on low for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Toast the Buns (Optional)
