  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb 450g smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced into rounds
  • 1 small head green cabbage chopped (about 6 cups)
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Instructions
 

  • Brown the sausage:
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 5–7 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
  • Sauté veggies:
  • In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Add chopped cabbage and stir frequently for 5–7 minutes until it starts to soften.
  • Combine and season:
  • Return sausage to the pan. Add soy sauce, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir everything together and cook another 2–3 minutes until cabbage is tender-crisp.
  • Serve hot:
  • Enjoy as is, or serve over cauliflower rice or mashed potatoes for a heartier meal.

Notes

Use turkey sausage for a lighter version.
Add carrots, bell peppers, or mushrooms for more veggies.
