- 1 lb 450g smoked sausage or kielbasa, sliced
- 1 small head green cabbage chopped (about 6 cups)
- 1 small yellow onion thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika optional
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar optional, for a tangy touch
- Red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Brown the sausage
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook 5–7 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Sauté vegetables
In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant. Add chopped cabbage, season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is soft and slightly caramelized.
Combine
Return sausage to the skillet. Stir to combine. Add apple cider vinegar (if using) and red pepper flakes to taste.
