Instructions

  • Prep the Grill or Pan
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush grates lightly with oil.
  • Season the Steak
  • Rub steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional herbs. Let rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  • Grill the Steak
  • Grill steaks for about 4–5 minutes per side (medium-rare), or to desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  • Grill the Asparagus
  • Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill for 4–6 minutes, turning occasionally until tender with light char. Add lemon zest or juice if using.
  • Serve
  • Plate the steak alongside grilled asparagus. Optionally drizzle with steak juices or a garlic herb butter.

Notes

  • For a bolder flavor, marinate the steak in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic 1–2 hours before grilling.
  • Add mushrooms or cherry tomatoes to the grill for extra veggies.
  • Swap ribeye with filet mignon for a leaner cut.
