  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine leaves separated
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 avocado diced
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

  • Cook the Beef
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until soft (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Season
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer for 2–3 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Prepare Lettuce Cups
  • Wash and dry lettuce leaves. Choose larger, intact leaves to hold the filling.
  • Assemble Tacos
  • Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce leaves.
  • Top with cheese, tomatoes, red onion, avocado, and cilantro.
  • Serve
  • Squeeze fresh lime over the top and enjoy immediately.
